Next Meeting
The Explorers offer the fun and friendship of Scouting to teenagers aged 14-18. We meet every Wednesday in term time from 19:15-21:15. Our members are both boys and girls.
At Banderlogs, we aim to keep our Explorers active, regularly going on hikes, playing wide games, learning outdoor skills including survival, pioneering, navigation and fire-making. The Explorers have camps and do adventurous activities such as climbing, kayaking, backpacking, sailing and shooting. We also do social evenings with ten-pin bowling or going for a curry being popular.
We encourage our Explorer Scouts to build their own confidence and develop life skills by participating in schemes such as the Young Leader Award, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award or King's Scout Awards. There are opportunities to go away on organised events with Hampshire Scouts and attend international jamborees.
Request for Volunteers
We have a great group of Explorer Scouts in Banderlogs, and we are looking for additional leaders to be part of their future. This will give opportunity for new leaders to bring their skills and leadership to our young people in Banderlogs.
If you like being outdoors, adventurous and a passion for helping young people learn new skills, why not consider giving time to Explorers?
As we endeavour to challenge them in every area of scouting It can be very rewarding. You will be contributing to making our young members more rounded, capable individuals supporting them into adulthood while giving them experiences and opportunities that make Scouting special.
If you are interested or would like to understand more then please use the contact form to get in touch or approach us at our weekly meetings.
